Philippines is in Big Trouble: A Big Disaster Hit

As if the suffering of the Filipino people are not enough yet. The natural calamity called Frank the typhoon hit the country leaving hundred folds of deaths and thousands of homelessness among Filipino families. Although I am out of the country, the area that was hit was my own city and province and until now, I cannot make any contact to my family! Isn't that sad and worrisome?

Floods, storm surge, and landslides affected 366,444 people, of which, 70,717 are in evacuation centers as of 6 a.m. Sunday, the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) said.
That was the latest update I have heard. I have been staying up all night the other night waiting but nothing... been trying to call back but no phones can be called all are turned off due to unavailability of electricity. So far, as i heard over the radio, this is the worst calamity that ever hit the Western Visayas, specifically the Central Panay area.

Who can be blamed? From the radio and television, i have heard that it was attributed to lack of trees around due to illegal logging and over deforestation. I know this can be an insult added to injury but I know my country very well and this is true. It is also true that rivers and seas are full of garbage and the drainage are full of cloggy garbages and other thrown materials.

In times of disaster, all are clamoring but I do hope this one could be a call to my fellow Filipinos to change.... to change not for the worse but for the better. Please be wide minded enough thinking of the future and the vengeance the nature is capable of.. Look at what happened just now, this is not the fist case happening in the Philippines remember! Thus, the moment you got the urge to throw that candy wrapper, think that there are millions who can throw making bad results to nature, to the drainage and to hygiene and all you can think of.
